A website designed for a Nottingham business with a complex form to allow the user to get a very specific quotation on selling diamonds.
Custom Bootstrap Theme for a Nottingham jewellers who are re-positioning themselves as up-market, reliable and professional buyers and sellers of diamonds and jewellery.
Whilst visitors can find information and even get a valuation online, the business retains it’s personal touch by emphasising the fact the they have a bricks and mortar establishment that they encourage clients to visit. They even perform home visits in certain circumstances.
The site needed have an up market appeal that set them apart from other buyers and sellers, such as pawnbrokers and the like. Gold, black and silver give the site a muted, luxurious feel and the green calls to action are a positive highlight. The design progressed from simple black and silver initially to have the gold, which really brings it to life and adds the elegant, upmarket feel that other website examples in the niche lack.
The ‘Get a Valuation’ form was crucial, and we didn’t just want a simple page but rather like the idea of a progressive form. This meant that the form was gone through in bitesize chunks and didn’t look too daunting to potential clients wanting to obtain a valuation.
We also set up a booking system with SetMore.com to allow out of hours visitors to set appointments with the staff. Setmore is great, it allows the business to have available timeslots for valuations all managed online.
This website example steps away form my usual WordPress setup and is a Boostrap based site – all hand coded with the correct HTML 5 markup of course. It’s good fun to break the mould sometimes and it was entertaining (for the geek) to write the PHP to automatically add SEO optimised page titles. The site is essentially PHP based to make managing the various templates easier, such as the header and footer.
So this was not one of my usual website examples, though my WordPress work is based on Bootstrap I enjoyed revisiting the dynamic elements that the CMS backend adds in. If you would like me to work on your next project, please get in touch!
